More Frecciarossa connections, Sala Freccia and Trenitalia ticket office open with extended hours (6 am - 9.30 pm), three new self-service ticket machines, mobile customer service desk, renovated car park accessible to all travellers and greater security.
Milan Rogoredo station is ready to accommodate the expected increase in passengers (according to estimates about 100 thousand people will choose to travel with Trenitalia) during the three months of the Milan Linate airport shutdown.
The hub has been upgraded to encourage and facilitate modal interchange and to relieve traffic congestion in the Milan metropolitan area. The aim is to make sure that travel is increasingly door-to-door and sustainable.
Frecciarossa stops are increasing (+14) - from 36 to 50 - as well as passenger assistance services. Sala Freccia is open for all CartaFRECCIA holders from 6 am to 9.30 pm. The number of seats offered has increased from 13 to 25.
The Trenitalia ticket office, open from 6 am to 9.30 pm, also allows you to change your ticket up to a few minutes before departure. There are eight self-service stations in operation, three more than before. At peak times and on the busiest days there is a mobile desk with customer service staff for information and customer assistance.
Those who choose to travel by train can get to Milan Rogoredo more easily thanks to intermodal services. The station is connected to lines S1, S2 and S13 of the Milanese railway link and with line M3 of the underground. It is in a strategic position to reach the South-East area of the metropolitan city of Milan, the southern provinces of Lombardy and the centre of the Lombardy capital. However, it is also an important junction for connections (high speed and traditional) with Bologna and Genoa.
The Metropark car park (FS Italiane Group), next to the station and with access from via Cassinis, has been completely renovated. The area has been expanded and is able to accommodate new sustainable mobility services. The car park is accessible to all rail passengers.
A total of 189 parking spaces are available. Four bays are reserved for recharging electric cars. The car park also allows free access to car sharing services operating in the city, thanks to license plate detection technology. There are four parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility, located in front of the station entrance, for obstacle-free access.
No increase in parking fees, open 24 hours a day: €1.50 per hour of parking and a flat rate of €10, valid from 6 am to 10 pm, particularly suitable for day travellers. The discounts for regular customers also continue with the monthly passes: €90 per ordinary ticket, €65 for rail season ticket holders. The parking service can be booked and purchased, together with the train ticket, on the Trenitalia web (trenitalia.com), at ticket offices and in travel agencies. In addition, payment for parking can also be made on the nugo platform.
Security is also at the heart of FS Italiane's commitment and initiatives in Milan Rogoredo. Since 3 June, a new Railway Police office (200 square metres) has been operating in the station, with a front office on platform 1.
There is also a Corporate Protection office, the structure of the FS Italiane Group active throughout the national network that monitors trains and stations and assists passengers in situations of difficulty, reporting the most serious matters to the Railway Police and/or State Police.
Three semi-automatic defibrillators have been installed in the station, in addition to the two already present. The video surveillance system in Milan Rogoredo has been upgraded with 17 cameras (9 in the car park and 8 in the station) and the latest generation LED lighting system.
The FS Italiane Group is committed to encouraging more and more people to choose the train, the ultimate eco-friendly means of transport, for their journeys for work, study, leisure and tourism. This will guarantee enormous benefits for the environment and, consequently, for the air quality of the cities and the main urban areas of the country. Environmental sustainability is, in fact, one of the pillars of the FS Italiane 2019-2023 Business Plan.
