'Women behind the divas': FS Group presents a special Intercity for the Taormina Film Festival 2025

The train covered by photos of the actresses will travel between Rome and Sicily. FS Group and Trenitalia’s commitment to support the world of culture continues, with a concrete focus on gender equality

Rome, 5 June 2025

Intercity dedicates a special train to the Taormina Film Festival, personalised with the faces of the great women of cinema. For the second year in a row, the Trenitalia (FS Group) brand is Main Partner of the event, now in its 71st edition, scheduled from 10 to 14 June.

The Intercity train 'Women behind the divas' was presented on platform 25 at the Roma Termini station, before the Intercity Business Director, Francesca Serra; the Extraordinary Commissioner for Fondazione Taormina Arte Sicilia, Sergio Bonomo; the Superintendent of Fondazione Taormina Arte Sicilia, Felice Panebianco; the Artistic Director of the Taormina Film Festival, Tiziana Rocca; and Ilenia Pastorelli, actress and member of the Festival jury.

The special train will connect Rome and Sicily from 5 June, until September. On board, the carriages interiors are decorated with additional shots and the Festival’s colours and graphics, creating an engaging experience for passengers.

During the journey, the two half-trains will separate when crossing the Strait of Messina, taking different directions and ending in Palermo and Syracuse, to disseminate the art of film as widely as possible. There are currently 10 Intercity trains, including 6 Intercity Nights, arriving daily in Sicily, guaranteeing accessibility and territorial continuity.

If you travel to Sicily with Intercity, you will get a 50% reduction on the cost of the entrance ticket to the Taormina Film Festival, and any of the events scheduled by the Fondazione Taormina Arte Sicilia. For X-GO customers, admission is free of charge (subject to availability).

Through this partnership with the Taormina Film Festival, Trenitalia and the FS Group strengthen their role as cultural and social promoters, with a concrete focus on gender equality and talent development. The Group’s many initiatives spread a culture that places the promotion of diversity and inclusion at the centre, inside and outside the company, with the aim of improving gender balance.

On a last note, Trenitalia confirms itself as a company that connects people to their passions, such as cinema and culture, promoting a sustainable mode of travel to the Sicilian territory.
