The information contained in the 2018 Sustainability Report is compared with those of the two previous years. Any differences to previous Sustainability Reports are due to the improvement of the recording methods used.

Since 2011, we have used SuPM software (Sustainability Performance Management) to collect data, which now includes 23 companies operating in the Group, identified on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Materiality, i.e. the relevance of mutual impact (social, economic and environmental) between the main companies and stakeholders;
  • Control, i.e. the Group's ability to influence its activities.

The 2018 Sustainability Report has been prepared in accordance with the “GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards” guidelines issued by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in 2016, using the comprehensive reporting option. The data and information published in this report were provided by the department heads or were taken from other official sources.

Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane S.p.A.’s Board of Directors examined the 2018 Report during its meeting on 26 March 2019.
