The development of the railway and mobility sector throughout the Middle East, especially in the Asian market, is at the heart of Middle East Rail, one of the main trade fairs in the sector which took place in Dubai on 25 and 26 February 2020. Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane attended the event and introduced the Group companies operating outside the EU at its stand: FS International, Italferr and Italcertifer.
For FS Italiane it was also an opportunity to welcome the delegation led by Ahmed Mohammed Shareef Al Khoori, General Director of the Federal Transport Authority in the UAE (United Arab Emirates), who was given a summary of the main services offered and the solutions proposed by the Group in the field of transport and mobility in Italy and in the international context, focussing on:
The FS Italiane stand also welcomed other prominent guests, including a delegation from the Egyptian Ministry of Transport, representatives of Etihad Rail in the United Arab Emirates and leading railway players such as Hitachi Rail, Alstom, Bombardier, Progress Rail, Lucchini, Hyper Poland.
The FS Italiane Group took part in the Concerning Innovation panel, in which numerous initiatives and new digital services were presented to the public, in particular the Nugo ticketing app created by FSTechnology that provides passengers with a single interface for purchasing multiple trips with a single ticket regardless of the operator, the quantity and type of transport to be used. Design also plays a leading role in the innovation sector, in which Italferr represents Italian excellence and a European reference in the use of BIM (Building Information Modeling).
