FS International at the High-Speed Rail Policy Forum in Washington DC

On 4 December, the High-Speed Rail Policy Forum, sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), took place in Washington DC with the main focus on the ability to create economic growth through the development of High Speed services.

The Forum was structured around seven panels, discussing:

  • aspects of the opportunity to create and connect the different High Speed corridors in the USA;
  • the roles of the federal, state, local and private sectors in the planning, development and leadership of this system;
  • experiences in the USA and international examples in this area.

The forum was attended by staff from federal and state agencies, industry representatives, transport policy consultants and railway experts from all over the world.

FS International participated in the "International Examples of Economic Growth Through Rail" panel, reconstructing the phases and identifying the key factors that led to the success of the AV system in Italy, even in a competitive market.
