He was born in Messina in 1961.
He graduated in Law from the Faculty of Messina and in Economic and Financial Security from “Tor Vergata” University in Rome. In 2003 he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Geopolitics and Global Security from the Faculty of Political Science at “Tor Vergata” University in Rome.
He is registered with the Italian Register of Certified Auditors.
After attending the Guardia di Finanza Academy, in 1981 he headed the Mondragone Command (CE), the company in Gela (CL) and worked in the Tax Police Headquarters in Rome - Drugs Section “I” with various responsibilities until 1995, when he discharged with the rank of Captain.
In 2007 he became the Director of Corporate Protection for Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane S.p.A. after having held office as Manager of the Corporate Protection Operational Department (for RFI S.p.A.) and Manager of the Department for Corporate Protection, Know-how, Infrastructures and Assets (FS S.p.A.).
In 2007, he became President of the Workgroup responsible for “Contribution of new technologies to security” within UIC (Union International des Chemins de Fer).
In December 2014 he was elected President of Colpofer (Collaboration des Services de Police Ferroviaire et de Securitè), an International Association comprising the Heads of railway Corporate Security Departments from 24 countries and Transport Police.
He is also a Member of the following: the Commission for Legality established through Protocol of Intent entered into with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Confindustria; the National Observatory for Copper Theft at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Department of Criminal Police; the Master Homeland SecurityScientific Committee at Campus Bio Medico University in Rome; the Scientific Council of ICSA Foundation (Intelligence Culture and Strategic Analysis).
