Francesco Parlato was born in Rome in 1961.
Graduated in Economics and Business, full marks with honours, in 1985 at LUISS University of Rome.
After a three-year experience at the Finance Department of ICCREA, in 1988, he is hired in IRI where he worked in particular within the Finance Department performing, over the years, activities related to budget and plan of the Company and of the Gruppo, as well as major financial operations, placing and privatization.
From January 2003 to March 2016, he works at the Ministry of Economy and Finance - Treasury Department, in charge, since 2007, as Director of the General Finance and Privatisation Section of the Treasury Department. To the above mentioned Section, in relation to shareholdings held by the State, is entrusted the monitoring and management functions, exercise of shareholder rights, management of spin-off processes, privatization and divestment.
In this context, in particular referred to the most recent privatization activities, during 2015, he coordinated and directed transfer operations of 5% of the Enel capital and listing of Poste Italiane.
From April 2016, he has the Management Responsibility of the Institutional and Regulatory Affairs of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane.
He currently is member of the Board of Directors of Coni Servizi. Previously, he was member of the Board of Directors of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Finmeccanica, Gestore dei Servizi Elettrici – GSE, Fincantieri and Tirrenia di Navigazione, as well as member, as representation of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, of the Intergovernmental Commission for the Turin-Lyon line and for Brennero Tunnel.
