Born in Terni in 1973, he holds a Degree in Economics from the University of Perugia. After working freelance, in 1999 he joined KPMG, a multinational consultancy and auditing firm, as an expert in certifying financial statements, due diligence for corporate evaluation and drafting financial restructuring plans.
In 2002, he joined MPS Finance (today’s MPS Capital Services), the MPS Group’s Investment Bank, specialising in financial markets, structured finance operations and project financing. He took on roles of increasing responsibility, through to the position as Head of Strategic Planning, Control and Risk Management.
As of 2008, he was part of the MPS SpA Banking Parent Company, with growing responsibility for all areas of Risk Management and Value Creation, reaching the position of Head of Group Risk Management during the bank’s turnaround phase.
Managing complex and large-scale teams, he was also responsible for the validation and management of the internal models, taking an active part in the drafting of the Restructuring Plan and acting as the contact person for the Supervisory Authorities in Stress Testing and Asset Quality Review, as part of the deployment phase of the European Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM).
In 2015, he was called upon by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the world leader in strategic consulting, where he worked in roles of Strategic Planning, Transformation, Restructuring and Crisis Management, as well as being a member of the core international team for the development of the Risk Management practice.
Since 2017, he has been part of the Ferrovie Group, taking on increasing responsibility and currently holding the position of Head of Risk Management for the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane S.p.A. Group. He now leads the Group’s Task Force dedicated to generating shared value in the face of climate change and the relative strategies for adaptation.
