"A one hundred-year journey"

This film directed by Pupi Avati tells the story of Italy from it joining the Great War to arrival of the Frecciarossa 1000 at Expo Milano 2015

Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane appointed renowned film director Pupi Avati to recount a century of Italy’s history through a train journey starting in 1915 and ending in 2015 with arrival of the Frecciarossa 1000 at EXPO di Milano 2015 in a 45-minute docufilm.

The journey unfolded by this Master is supported by evolution in technology for trains, the means of transport that has accompanied but also produced social and cultural growth in Italy.

The journey begins in 1915 with guys from Emilia Romagna boarding a train for the first time ever to get to the war front.

The narration evolves from here and, coach by coach, the events that have marked Italian history from Caporetto to the Great Exhibition of 2015 unfold.
