Local public transport
Our commitment towards a more sustainable and intermodal transport
Local public transport has always been one of the main objectives of our Group: our commitment aims to improve passengers’ mobility, both in terms of service and inter - modality quality.
Trenitalia’s regional fleet
Trenitalia is implementing a national plan to renew its regional fleet through massive self - financing investments sustainable thanks to Service Contracts with the Regions.
Trenitalia’s new regional train offers exceptional levels of comfort, safety, reliability and accessibility.
Entirely designed and built in Italy, it is electrically driven, equipped with four engines, with ample and bright interiors, ergonomic seats, a video surveillance system, audio and video information systems and a flexible structure which allows adjusting the composition and interior fittings to the various mobility demands.
The Vivalto trains consist of comfortable and spacious double-decker carriages and can carry up to 600 people seated.
The on-board technology allows an effective integration of all information systems: the sound system, LCD monitor, tactile push buttons as well as Braille maps for visually impaired passengers.
A video surveillance system and an alarm button equipped with an intercom allow you to communicate with the on-board staff at any time.
They are modern diesel trains with 161 seats, equipped to transport bicycles, intended to travel on non-electrified lines and provided with monitors and audio equipment for improved communication with passengers.
They also have six internal and four external cameras, installed to ensure a 360-degree video surveillance.
